Artist Research- Rut Blees Luxemburg
Rut Blees Luxemburg is a German-born British photographer. Her technique is to take photographs at night, where she mostly explores the urban landscape. Luxemburg's images capture the urban landscape at night in the artificial lighting.
These images capture the landscape in a different light and create unique images with lots of depth. I wish to explore making photographs with these images in mind, using artificial lighting to show a different experience of the streets. I also find the use of reflections in the lying water a very primary factor in the successful outcomes of the images.
The angles at which the images are taken are also an important factor to their outcomes. I feel as though the images show the right amount of foreground and background to draw you into the images. I particularly like the image above on the far left, due to the lighting captured and the angle at which it was taken. I feel that this technique can be incorporated into my shoots for this project.
